FISHING TOURISIM IN VALENCIA REGION
The Valencia Region is a Spanish Mediterranean region with 510 km of coastline. It is an easily accessible destination that, however, hides numerous and attractive leisure proposals that you can enjoy at any time of the year.
Its fishermen tradition is anchored in its 22 fishing ports, and is easily recognizable through its gastronomy, its festivals and its tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Valencia is a near 800.000 people city located on Spain’s eastern coast, at the mouth of the Turia River, right in the centre of the Gulf of Valencia. It is situated on the shores of the Mediterranean. Valencia’s geographical location makes it an excellent operational base from which to explore the rest of Spain.

With the help of Vicente (skipper of "Carolina"), Óscar and Marga, you will learn the secrets of small-scale fishing in front of the beaches of Valencia:
- You will discover the natural richness of the marine part of La Albufera, a protected area belonging to the Natura 2000 Network.
- You will be able to spot native birds.
- You will experience a day of fishing with the traditional "trammel" and "longline" fishing gears,knowing first-hand the importance and value of artisanal fishing activity.
- You will learn how fish is selected and sorted.
The trip is carried out on board a 15 m sailboat:
9:00 - Embark at La Marina. Cofee at sea and explanation of Valencia's maritime tradition.
10:00 - Encounter with the fishing boat "Carolina" at sea. Brunch.
12:00 - Back to port. Guided walk to the fishing docks. Arrival of "Carolina", fish selection and unload.
13:00 - End of the activity
